Visit Thailand on a Budget

People wishing to explore the world overseas will do well to consider Thailand. However there are many travelers not so seasoned that complained of spending more than necessary. Time and again you'll hear such people exclaim: “only if they had planned better.” So here is how to prepare for a visit to exotic Thailand and stay within a reasonable budget.

Make it a point to hit the islands during Thailand's low season. This can save you up to twenty-five percent of the cost of accommodation. This amounts to savings of twenty five U.S. dollars nightly--that is if you select the upper tier regular stay option as opposed to luxury accommodation. But bear in mind that Thailand's costs fluctuate significantly and are determined by when you stay. Don't be contrary about staying in Thailand during the low season. The area enjoys comfortable weather conditions during the low season and you don't pay near the peak season price. Traveling to your destination from Bangkok by a bus or by rail is significantly cheaper than air transportation. The way to do this is to come to Thailand by way of Bangkok International and then proceed from there.

Western diners sometimes find paying a more elevated price for an above-average dining experience has its rewards. The opposite is true in Thailand; the least-expensive the food, the better the experience and the taste seems. When you visit a pricier restaurant in Thailand you will receive a dining experience similar to what you may attain within the US. Further, the higher price is not indicative you are getting anything different or unique in the way of cuisine. The western-version restaurants generally charge ten to thirty American dollars for dinner.

The alternate consideration is to pay a visit to an inexpensive eatery complete with chairs made of plastic but with authentic cuisine. The scaled down dining venue hits right around the three to eight U.S. dollar mark and the food is superb. Who cares about what you are on when your cuisine is sensational and different from what you are accustomed? People on the forums often say their best dining experiences in Thailand are found at inexpensive restaurants. The mom and pop style establishments seem to hold the most value as far as memorable experiences.

If you visit when Thailand is not so warm you can further save by requesting accommodations without air conditioning. The savings difference can amount to ten to seventy dollars per day. The season to avoid if you are traveling to Thailand on a restricted budget is March through April. Those months are when you will require a place with air conditioning.

Also dependent where you choose to stay is going to have a great deal to do with how much you pay. If you choose a place within a centralized beach area and close to air transportation, this reasonably is going to cost more than finding a nice secluded beach away from a vibrant nightlife. The taxi fares however are in-line with the thinking regarding accommodation. It is a matter of convenience. If you use a taxi to stay further out, naturally your fare is more.

It is probably advisable to stay close to the airport if nightlife is a strong draw for you. However if you prefer a more quiet environment then opt to stay further away from the area that is close to the airport. In staying farther out, your accommodation rate can drop up to sixty U.S. dollars per night.
